moments: November

October extinguished itself in a tush of howling winds and driving rain and November arrived, cold as frozen iron, with hard frosts every morningand ice drafts that bit at exposed hands and faces

November passed by so quickly I can hardly believe it's December already and Hanukkah starts on Sunday! It was a crazy month, not so cold but definitely far from October's warmth (was October warm anyway?). In November I learned yiddish alphabet (something I'd always wanted to do and had even once enrolled in a yiddish course but had to resign in the end) and read Acts of the Apostles. I fell in love with Belgian waffles at Starbucks (not good for my belly) and all kinds of winter tea there is in every place selling tea and coffee. I celebrated Bobek's birthday and bought him some rabbit treats. I also soent hours in libraries and bookshops accompanied by wise texts and the magical smell of books.

Speaking of smell (and trying not to start the next sentence with I), I have a brand new smell for the winter and it's got some myrrh tones so something I've been head over heels in love for quite a long time. I love the smell of incense and spices as they somehow remind me of colder days and that's Warsaw reality right now. They have also something mysterious and as I'm a walking enigma, my perfume needs some secret too. Why did I go for myrrh? The answer is just as simple as that: not so long ago My Boy gave me the Song of Songs smelling of myrrh. I kept in on my desk for so long that I got used to its smell so much that when I got asked what kind of smell I wanted, without any hesitation I said 'Something with myrrh, incense but not so heavy...and with some oriental tones' .

Today marks the first day of the last month of the year. We already had some snow in the morning and, to my great surprise, my friends were so kind and spared me facebook statuses screaming snooooooooow! . Maybe finally they understood we have windows in our flat. Anyway, December is the time to finish what we started to do and finish your books, soap operas or simple tasks such as making over your closet. And get warm cause I've been struggling with catarrh and a sore throat for a couple of days and I don't wish any of these to anyone of you :)
