Vienna is a handsome, lively city, and pleases me exceedingly.
Frederic Chopin
August was spent mostly in a city I still somehow manage to call my second home in Europe (even after all my quasi official statements that I'm never ever moving there or even staying for this long). Vienna was beautiful and charming as usual, even though I experienced some unpleasant situations just because I wasn't a local. Anyway, I'm just gonna think only of all the good things that happened to me there and all the friendly people from all over the world I was lucky to meet. I sill have many many photos to show you, so expect September to be a month of throwbacks to museums and art galleries.
MUSIC: Alicia Keys - In Common
DRINK: ChariTea Black, ChariTea Green, true fruits smoohies
FOOD: pizza at Canina La Norma in Vienna
PLACE: Albertina, MAK (both in Vienna)
EVENT: summer open air cinema at Rathausplatz
Hundertwasserhaus
(I feel sorry for all the people who live in this block of flats, indeed. Thumbs up for relatively cheap coffee in the cafe nearby!)
One Saturday there was a Kurdish demonstration marching through the city
Wiener Staatsoper
Volksgarten
(one of my favorite places to chill in the middle of Vienna and the company of roses and Hofburg; usually crowded with tourists taking photos; closes at 10pm)
Austria is a real paradise (compared to Poland although I can't quite complain) for all those who are either vegan, gluten free, vegetarian or anything else connected with food intolerancies and healthy lifestyle.
found on Mariahilferstraße
Bonjour Vienne is a parisian-style cafe on Tigergasse (Josefstadt). Even though My Boy wasn't particularly fond of their coffee, I really liked their iced chai latte. They also serve typical French breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday so if you want a break from all he Hawelkas (they sell mineral water for 2,50 euros so never order mineral water at Hawelka!), you might as well make a walk through Josefstadt and visit this spot while marveling at all the tenements and doing some window shopping.
Kunsthistorisches Museum (seen from Naturhistorisches Museum cause I took advantage of the open window in one of the rooms)
even though I know Vienna pretty well and don't seem to need any guide anymore, there are many alternative guides with beautiful pictures and covers which won't take you to all the places filled with tourists from all over the world, but will show you some unknown spots popular with locals.
Volksgarten
my hall of residence :) it was my second time at Tigergasse!
Parlamentsgebäude
Rathaus
#foodporn (to be honest, I'm not really a fan of drinks with seeds but decided to give it a try)
Votivkirche
this has nothing to do with healthy choices (and product placement) but when you manage to walk 15 kilometers a day (or almost 22 as I did one Wednesday), you can treat yourself
Volksgarten (I really like how this picture turned out because it was a bit cloudy and the light seemed to be so bad and then with a little help of visual supply I got this. my favorite park in Vienna looks so magical!)
