Here's to all of You who kept complaining about the heat and too much sun and summer in general. Waking up to 27 degrees and then beating the rain in espadrilles and sudden 15 degrees wasn't my plan for the day but this just happened. God bless me and my bestie's abandoned plan of going out in the evening cause we'd have ended up wet wet wet (unfortunately not from sexual arousal but from the rain). In other words: the weather happened to be frightening and it's been raining ghosts most of the time (an inside joke, not my lack of knowledge about English idioms).
Since I'm currently dealing with my semester paper for the Religious History of Medieval France and I'm surrounded by books and notes and ideas and creativity and Bobek running his marathons in the living room, I decided to change my working environment for the day and went to Starbuck (how creative!). I decided to mak it up with the coffee they serve and got myself a cup of grande americano (my coffee of the moment as I'm trying to avoid milk and milky tummy afterwards). I wish I wasn't in a rush this week (last minute writing as the paper is due Sunday so You see me) and had more time to dwell upon life while sipping on my coffee (although coffee chains aren't the perfect spot for this) and listen to some nice tunes. Speaking of tunes, I know I missed my weekly Music Monday and that's why I'm gonna make it up to You today. On Saturday I went with My Boy to see Amy (and You should do the same cause it's amazing and makes You think about a lot of stuff and being in the firece glare of the limelight and the pros and cons of being famous and it's all so real that You won't believe Amy's gone) and since Winehouse has been one of my favourite singers, I uploaded a new playlist on my phone and I've been listening to it most of the time (sincere apologies to My Baby Boy cause it caused him a little headache on Sunday :* ). Anyway, I thought that on a day like today, gloomy and windy, all we want to do is either curling up on a sofa with some good reads or hide from the rain in a nice cafe and listen to some jazz music. That's why today I'm leaving You with my favourite Amy's songs and I'll be drifting off to my books about the cult of relics in the Capetian France.
