off to Vienna we go!

SO MANY PASTELS, SO TRIM AND FIT*. Today is the day when I finally on my way to my second home - Vienna. That is why I decided to do a little masterpost with some snaps from this beautiful city that is probably one of the very few places on the globe where I can really refuel.

I was in Vienna for the very first time in 2008 while I was on my way home from our school excursion to Spain. I remember we had our pitstop near Villach where we has some Wiener Schnitzel (now I can say it wasn't the real Schnitzel but still it was delish though it's not my favourite dish to be honest) and we reached Vienna at night. We didn't stop there and I actually could hardly see anything through the window but still I got this feeling that I'm driving through a beautiful place. Then 2009 and one of my best holidays ever spent in Austria near Bischofshofen and again, we were driving back home through Vienna but there was no time to stop. All I managed to capture with my little eyes was the impression of a big modern city with a really urban landscape. Nothing special actually but I guess that's all you can see when you're on a highway.

Two years ago I was lucky enough to have a really long Spring/Easter break at the uni and my parents decided that after the feast is over we're going to Bratislava. It's not so far from Vienna and that's why one day my mum said that being so close and not going there would be a real waste. It was a sunny April day but we had no map and actually no clue where to go and what to see. Now I laugh my knickers off when I think about it cause we were just right in the city centre but had no slightest idea about it. Anyway, we had a really nice walk and could embrace the architecture and feel the atmosphere. I guess I'd never felt like this before that day. You know, being in a foreign city where nobody knows you and vice versa, you have no plans and there's no tension to see this and this and maybe that and be like a tourist from Japan taking pictures of absolutely everything that comes his way (to make things clear: I have absolutely nothing against the Japanese!). Walking round town we found our favourite Italian restaurant that we always visit when in Vienna. tHey have the best pizza in the world and though I can't eat pizza I always make an exception and spoil myself once in a while.

I was lucky enough to spend the whole Augusts 2012 and 2013 in Vienna and this is when I decided I'm gonna move there as soon as I'm done with my bachelor's degree in Poland. It's been almost two years since I made up my mind and I'm slowly beginning to count days till it happens. Fingers crossed everything goes according to plan.

I like coming back to Vienna when I have some time off at the university. I call it my second home because I do feel myself at home there. I have my favourite spots there, some friends and well, what else can I say? It's my place to be.
